I wanted to offer these up here first to forum members.

I currently have two gold breasted waxbills from a clutch that just weaned and are starting to color out. I actually think one is male and one is female.

I also have a clutch of three owl finches that I think two are male and one is female.

All are ready to go. Local preferred.

I've heard of so many horror stories when shipping. I'd love to send them to you, I'm just skeered.

I'd love to get a pair of owl finches. We're practically neighbors here in the southwest

I understand your concerns about shipping, but I've had 3 shipments of birds through USPS priority express, including finches, and they arrived at my local USPS facility overnight in good shape. I'm willing to take the risk if you don't find any local home for them.

Well technically I'm in Commerce. Which is north east of Dallas and North West of Tyler. I drive to Tyler nearly every week. I might be driving down to Palestine to visit family for the upcoming holidays, but that remains to be seen...lol

I have a childhood friend who lives in Palestine. I used to spend time on their ranch as a kid riding the horses and feeding the cows. Good times.

I grew up there for 16 years. I miss the 113 acres but that's about it.

I am so happy for you and your succuessful clutch . How much are you askng for them and can we see pics? I maybe going to San Antonio area next month sometime ....if u still have them . I'm interested. But I understand first come first serve good luck and if u still have them in December let me know !

And by local I mean the Houston and surrounding area.

This was taken a couple weeks ago. They have started getting in the white feathers on the face.


The juvies are the center of this group behind the mom and in front of the cordon bleu hen.


The one on the left here is the one I think will be male. He already has a dark orange feather or two above his right eye and the feathers coming in on his rump are pretty bright compared to his sibling's.

I just got a couple new pics of the owl babies. They are midway through their first molt and starting to look more like their parents. Here are two of them with dad, Hoot, in the middle. So cute.
