Anyone or Anywhere sale Yellow body Star Finches??

Hi Mami,

These yellow factor star finches are just AMAZING! I have a friend here in Edmonton, Alberta Canada, who managed to get her hands on 3 pairs from Ponytail Joe in BC, Canada. They were priced the same as regular stars, as he didn't even know what they were!
Good luck trying to find some. They are really lovely birds.

hello yegbirdlover - I live in Lower Mainland BC - sometimes it seems we have more yellow stars then the regular - could be Joe can not sell the yellows for more than the others.

I have been breeding Star Finch for a few years here in Indiana and my goal is to end up with yellow body. I am closer each year. I have bred a few birds with yellowish body.

We have lots of yellow face star finches not yellow body. I however have a pink face.

I have a friend who has been working with them for some time. I sold her the first yellow-faced Stars, I had one hen that popped up in a clutch of red-faced, so the male must have been split. Since then, she acquired many other bloodlines and has been very successful working with them. If you want, I can PM you her email address. She is in the Dallas TX area and she does ship.

Another source is Frank Tromp in southern CA. I can PM his email to anyone who is interested. I believe this is where Helen got many of her bloodlines, he has been working with Star mutations.

I know my guys hail from BC, around Vancouver somewhere. The breeder was visiting his daughter here, and had brought several different birds with him.

My three are a light yellowish green in colour. I thought that was the natural colour for them.
