In search of blue gouldians

Post by LauraBird » Sat May 16, 2015 8:17 am

Hi,

I am trying to find blue gouldians (not split) near me, so I can pick them up rather than have them shipped. I'd be willing to drive 2 hours. I'm in Indiana - So Illinois, Ohio, etc.

I am specifically looking for a straw head, white breast, blueback male. However, I am open to more if available.

Thanks!
Laura

We have 2 kids, 2 dogs, a 75 gallon fishtank, 4 mice, 2 Society Finches, and 12 Gouldian finches - BHPBGB male, 2 BHPBGB black headed females (one is their chick), RHPBGB male, 2 RHPBGB females (one a "dirty" redhead), YHPBGB male, YHPBGB female, YHWBYB male, SHWBBB male, SHWBSB (silver) male, and SHWBSB (silver) female.

Just an FYI, a "straw" head is either a RH or YH because of their genetics they are unable to produce the red color. There is no way visually to tell RH from YH on a Blue gouldian.

Hope you find a beauty, best of luck :)

Thanks for the info - I have just studied the genetics (it is so interesting) but it's early in the morning, couldn't think of it!
