ISO Parrot finches, male canary & cage - Wisconsin

Post by Lainy3591 » Sun Mar 06, 2016 1:10 pm

I'd like to find an unrelated pair of parrot finches, a male canary, and a flight cage in Wisconsin, especially those not more than 3 hours or so away from Green Bay. If anyone knows the best way to look for these birds or if you have any, please let me know. I'd also like to find a used flight cage not more than 4 feet long. Thank you!

Lainy3591 I don't know how far Caledonia is from you, but I searched and found that there will be a bird fair on April 17. I have no idea what it is like, but it is put on by the Greater Racine Avicultural Society, so you could always check with them. I just added this event to our calendar.

Welcome to the forum! You might like to make a post in the Introductions forum telling the members about your birds and your setup, or if you are just getting started. There's lots of good reading at www.finchinfo.com, where you will find many articles on finch care.

Neenah Bird show is better and closer to you. It will be in April. I am looking for parrot finches too. Unfortunately, not many people breed them in WI. there is a lady in Albany, WI that has some.

Thanks so much for the helpful information! A bird show will be a good place for me to start looking for the finches I'd like to have. I will certainly check into when and where the Neenah bird show is planned to be held.

Haider I searched and can't find any information on a bird fair in Neenah in April. If you can get the details for me, I can add it to our calendar.

Haider If you can just supply a link to the flyer, I'll copy the information for our calendar. I try to put on the calendar any marts/fairs/shows that I hear about, so that our members will know about them. Often, these events aren't advertised a lot. I know that when I first started with finches in the Fort Worth TX area, I had no idea there was a huge bird mart right in Fort Worth each year. I was in heaven when I finally learned about it!

Is the adult male related to the fledglings?

That's a different pair that has young birds. These are my first 3 adults. Thought I would be able to find him a female but I couldn't. Very few people has them around here.
