Looking for Gouldian finches - Buffalo area, NY

My Gouldian boy lost his mate a month ago and he needs a friend. Although he sings often, at times his chirps definitely sound as he was calling his mate :( :(

If I don't find a Gouldian soon, do you think it would be a good idea to bring home a Society finch to keep him company???
