Lookin' for unwanted birds and bird supplies in Florida
Hello all. I live in Practically the middle of Florida between Tampa and Orlando. I like all kind of birds and I'm looking to adopt any unwanted birds near me. I also need as many supplies as I can get (like cages, food, treats, and nests and nesting material). If you live in Florida near me and no longer want your birds then I am willing to take them off of your hands. But hurry, I am only offering for a limited time because of limited room. So respond with any tips or if you want to give your birds a nice loving home. Talk to you soon.

Nick

I see people have been looking. Is there any way that people could please start responding? I am willing to accept cages and stuff from people who aren't in Florida as long as they can ship the stuff. Please start responding.

FinchLover&Breeder It might help if you told about about yourself and your experience with birds. Are you looking for free finches, or are you willing to pay a rehoming fee? The same for cages, food, supplies--are you willing to pay for the supplies and the cost to ship to you?
There are quite a few bird marts in Florida. Check out the calendar for any that might be close to you. Marts are great places to get birds, cages, and supplies at the best prices, usually much cheaper than you would pay at a pet shop.

I can pay a small re-homing fee if that person wants. My experience is that I literally grew up around 2 cockatiels and recently came into possession of my first ever zebra finches. I am looking for another cage to house the two brothers I have and I'm looking for a Florida Fancy Female zebra finch. I joined this site in case I had any questions and I know quite a bit about birds. I love everything nature related. So is anyone interested in helping me?

The finch community in itself is small. Our members here are only a fraction of that community. And we are scattered all over the world.
We can help you with practical things like finch care, mutations, breeding and tons of useful information. Finch keepers are here with many years of experience.
Rarely would someone from the forum be a mile or two away with extra birds, cages and supplies to run over to you.
You may get lucky, but I would rely on what most of us use...local breeders/petshops for birds and craigslist or ebay for supplies at reasonable prices.
The closest friend I have from the forum is about an hour's drive away and we see each other once a year to buy or trade gouldian finches from each other and exchange hugs. But we've gotten to know each other here on the forum for a long while before that relationship began.

ok. I'd figure I'd make a post just to be safe so people can contact me. No need to be mean.

Hun, I'm sorry if I came across sounding mean.
It wasn't intended that way. I was trying to give you some realistic expectations since you're new. ;)
It can be an exhilarating
and frustrating hobby

Alright. Thanks anyway. I've already hit one down: about a week ago she layed and egg and destroyed it because I accidentally messed with the cage a little too much. Thanks for your help. You never know, I might find someone near me.

I've broken a few of my bird's eggs while moving them.
Thank goodness they lay more.
