2 female canary
I am looking to rehome 2 female canary.
Unfortunately they don't get along with each other nor with my society finches. They really want their own private space.
They love to fly and r in a double flight cage.
Would be great to remain in a large cage or aviary. I don't want to separate them into small cages.
The person I got them from I believe called them Spanish Tribrabor (sp?)
Either rehoming fee or trade for birds that would get along with my pushy society finches.
I would be especially interested in owl finches.
I live in California. Must pick up since I don't drive.

Re: 2 female canary
They have settle down quite a bit, they really love mirrors and toys. I'm hoping it will work out with them together.
Now that they have settle down my society r back to fighting. I think it is main the darker ones that r picking on the fawn colored ones and on each other. The dark brown andblack and white male really can't stand each other and r pretty aggressive in general.
Capability is a very difficult thing.

Has anyone else on the Forum come across similar aggression with Societies? They are usually such sweet birds...what in the world?!

My societies aren't the most friendly, and used to chase other birds away from their nest box and occasionally beak-fence; however, they never attacked each other. About the most aggressive encounter I saw was one of the male societies staring down and beak-fencing with a Java finch, but not much else comes to mind.

Icearstorm With my Societies it was the same: most aggressive behavior I ever saw was two males staring each other down, a peck..'done'. And that was rare. But I only had Societies in a large cage....no other finches.

Re: 2 female canary
During breeding season they became much more aggressive towads each other and remained so. Just want to reduce number of cages and want compatible birds for one cage only
Especially would like 2 waxbill Gold Breasted to buy or trade
Must delivery / pickup since I no longer can drive
would it be okay to ask if there's any other sites safe and allowed to post for canary to sell them?
I sold some of my society and now have 4 only, 2 pairs that are getting along. But very determined to breed and I would prefer to just have females so no worries of multiplying - and no temptation to let them
$60 each for Canaries
Or trade

goldfinchowl, Sorry it did not work out with your canaries. Have you considered just rehoming one and perhaps it will be more peaceful with all birds in one cage ?? I wish you the best with finding homes for them. If I were closer to you I would consider taking one for you . Let us know how it is going for you and your birds. Your two canaries are very pretty !!
