The Bird Mart, Cleburne, TX May 17
The Fort Worth Bird Mart has new owners--the Fort Worth Bird Club! The man who previously put on four marts in this area each year has decided to pull out, leaving us with no marts in our immediate area, the nearest one being Temple. So the Fort Worth Bird Club members have taken on the task of putting on two marts this year. There is a change of location--not quite as central, but the Cleburne Conference Center in Cleburne, TX is a brand-new beautiful facility with FREE parking. Our dates are May 17 and August 23 this year. We have a website, and vendors can rent and pay for tables online.

These marts will be staffed by members of the Fort Worth Bird Club. If you'd like to participate in the behind-the-scenes fun, join our club! We work hard, and we have a lot of fun!

The Bird Mart is almost here! The Fort Worth Bird Club is putting on this mart, previously the Fort Worth Bird Mart. It is shaping up to be a very good mart, lots of vendors. Parking is FREE, there are lots of places to eat in the area, and best of all, the Chisholm Trail Parkway will be open in time for the mart. For those who are coming from the west, north, or east areas of the metroplex, you can pick up the tollway (extension of Hwy 121) at I-20 near the Hulen mall area and take that right to Cleburne.
I will be there both as a vendor and as part of the Bird Mart staff, so stop by and say hello! You may have to search for me, as I will either be at my table, or working at the admissions table, or helping with the raffle, or....OK, you get it, you might have to chase me down!

See you there! Try to be there when it opens at 10am, the best birds go fast.

Well... Not sure I will make it, but I will have to see if I am into a 'Road Trip' that morning. If I don't make it, I hope it will be a success!

I am so disappointed I can't be at the first bird mart FTW Bird Club is hosting! Even though it is because of Jessica's confirmation, I really was looking forward to this mart and the new set up and vendors etc. I will definitely be at the August mart with my babies! Enjoy the mart everyone!

You will be missed, Deborah, but kids must come before birds. We'll get the kinks worked out with this first mart, the one in August should be smoother.

Tomorrow is the big day! Vendors will be arriving at 7am, and we have had a very good response from our vendors. Jan Door of Texas Pride Aviary will be there, with her amazing selection of birds. I just love looking at all the species that I never see except at Jan's table.
The doors open to the public at 10am. We'll have finches, doves, quail, hookbills for sale. There will be lots of vendors selling toys for those hookbills. There will be seed for sale, and Centurion Cages will be there with their usual huge assortment of cages.
The Fort Worth Bird Club will be using the profits from the marts to put on our annual all-bird show in the fall. This show is NFSS sanctioned, and we usually have over 100 entries, plus there are shows for canaries, cockatiels, budgies, parrots.
So come out to Cleburne and visit our mart. See you Saturday, May 17!

Ahmed will be there. Helen, Ahmed and I have tables all in a row. I can ask him if he has a BCCB hen unrelated to Bert. If he does, would you be interested? Shipping one bird is a bit expensive.

Sally...I WOULD be interested! I know shipping 1 bird through the airlines is CRAZY, but I think hubby might go for it. I will talk to him when he gets in from his errands and let you know. Maybe you or Helen would have a nice pair of waxbills to send along with a BCCB hen???

Re: The Bird Mart, Cleburne, TX May 17
The first semi-annual The Bird Mart in Cleburne, TX was a HUGE success! Lots of vendors, lots of visitors, and many great comments from the vendors. Some of the vendors understandably were concerned about the move to a location away from central Fort Worth, but they were pleasantly surprised that we country folks showed up. This first mart let us work out some of the kinks, so the next one should be even better. Look forward to seeing everyone Aug. 23 in Cleburne, TX!
