Denver, CO, CHOP Workshop, April 8

Post by Sally » Thu Apr 07, 2016 12:16 am

For those of you in the Denver area, I just saw this posting about the Rocky Mountain Society of Aviculture meeting this coming Friday, April 8. They are doing a class/presentation on making CHOP for parrots. Even those who don't have parrots, but finches instead, can learn something about fixing fresh salads for your birds. I attended a presentation several years ago, and it was very interesting!

Rocky Mountain Society of Aviculture General Meeting This Friday 4/8/2016
Non Members Are Welcome
Come and learn how to make CHOP for your birds
It's a CHOP workshop!!

OUR April 8th, 2016 General Meeting

Presenting CHOP!

Join us at our April 8th general meeting and learn how to make a nutritious and fresh vegetable and grain parrot food mix. All materials and supplies are provided and you may take home quart size bags of chop for [a $5 donation each, $10.00 Non Members].

We will be supplying all of the fresh foods necessary and the majority of the equipment needed to make the chop mix. But, if possible, would you bring the following items from your kitchen? It will keep our costs down. We will have a few extras on hand just in case. Make sure your tools are clean and ready to go!

Here is your "bring" list:

cutting board,
sharp knife
potato/vegetable peeler
cotton kitchen towel(s)
roll of paper towels (optional)
spatula and/or large mixing spoon
measuring cup - size: 1 cup

If, by chance, you have a large capacity food processor that you could also bring, it would help tremendously as well!

If have any questions before Friday April 8th please just shoot us an email. Get ready to have a great time, meet other parrot lovers, and learn how to prepare a very healthy chop mix for your own flock. And remember: there is NO cost to you for this workshop, unless you wish to purchase chop for your own personal flock. The time will fly, and everyone will get their hands in the pot and create some very healthy parrot food.
