Perch Spacing

Post by Groover » Mon Nov 08, 2010 7:19 pm

Greetings,

I just purchased what is called a "double flight pen". It is actually two flight pens of 30 inches long by 40 inches high and 21 inches deep. There is a divider in the middle and when pulled out the flight pen becomes 60 inches in length.

I prefer to keep the divider in for the moment. I was just wondering what the suggestion may be in how to properly place the perches. With 40 inches of height I was thinking two perches top and two under?
Any thoughts......?
Thanks
Jeremy

This may sound strange, but I only put 3 perches for that size. 2 on the top at the farthest extremeties, and one lower in the center of these 2.

Just make sure they are far enough away from the side of the cage that they do not rub their tails. Rubbing the tail on the cage make it ratty :(
