FC-6 Flight Cage - Powder Coated Black By: Quality Cages
A medium sized flight cage that measures 34"w x 18"d x 18"h, and features a 8" x 8" door. Two spring-loaded seed cup doors with cups (cup color subject to stock on hand), and a ½" diameter notched perch are included. The bottom of the cage is below the slide-out tray, and a flip screen secures birds inside when tray is out. Made of ½" x 1" wire. Fully Assembled. Cages can be stacked.

thinking of getting this cage and wondered if anyone else has it. One for my canary and one for some finches. I like the fact that it has the flip screen that keeps the birds in the cage while you clean the bottom tray. Image

That is similar to my 30x18x18" breeding cages but mine have two large access doors along with 4 feeder doors on the front and two nestbox doors (one on each end). Most of my breeding cages have doors that slide up and down and a removable divider for the middle of the cage. =D>

I don't care for the ones with the spring-loaded nestbox doors.

I have a dozen of this size Quality cage, except mine are all the double model, with two doors on the front and two trays, and they came with two dividers, one wire and one solid. I LOVE these cages for the fact that you can divide them. If you are breeding, this is a must, as you can slide in the solid divider and do nest checks (on some species, not all) and the parents don't even know what you are up to.

Mine did not come with the seed cup doors, mine must be an older model. I bought them used from a canary breeder, so no telling how old mine are. If you use tube waterers, most of them will not fit thru the opening of the 1/2" x 1" wire mesh. You can cut out openings with a wire cutter so they will fit (and you then need something like a spring or mini bungee cord to keep the tubes from falling out), but then you can't leave that opening empty, as the smaller birds can fly out. I found this out the hard way--removed all waterers for overnight, so I could medicate in the morning, and when I went to replace the waterers, found one Goldbreast had left his cage and entered the one next door (guess he had a thing for his next-door neighbor's wife! ).

Mine also came with drop-in wire grates, which the canary breeder used. I immediately removed them and stored them away--I don't like grates, and these cages work perfectly without them.

The canary breeder also had nestbox openings on a few of the cages, but they were covered by 4" doors that Quality sells to cover those openings. Or, you can just take a piece of wire mesh, cut it to size, and ziptie it in place.

If you want the cage as just a flight cage, you could get by with the single door model, but if you want to use it as a breeding cage, then the double door model works perfectly.
3 Purple Grenadiers, 1 Goldbreast + 1 cat.
