outside in winter

i know its a long way away but in winter if i keep my birds outside in the aviary how do i stop the draft? what can i use to cover the aviary?

In the UK...go to a market traders supplies company.They will supply clear tarpaulins that market traders use to protect their stock when caught out by a sudden shower.
Some are ready made, others can be made to size.They are not particularly cheap but will not tear in a gale and will last for years.The edges are reinforced with eyelets and can be held firmly in place with bungee ropes.

I've used them on both my stalls and aviary.

and would i need extra heating for canaries,zebra finches and Bengalese and what would be the best way?
