Depth of an aviary

What do you think the minimum depth of an aviary can be?
If it were 6 feet long and 3 feet high.

Well, since you can't walk into a 3ft high cage, I don't think that is an aviary.

Stick your arm out and measure your reach. You will have to reach in to work on the back wall of the cage, so you either need to limit it to your arm reach, less any offset by the location of the door. What that means is when you reach in from the door, you need to be able to reach most any part of the back of the cage. So I would limit to less than 2ft, and I would make it 18 inches. If you have more and larger doors, so you have more access, things change. But the larger the door (so you can lean your body in) the greater the chance for "escapes."
