Does anybody use ECO bedding?

Post by Ursula » Fri Oct 14, 2011 11:19 am

I saw this at Petsmart: http://www.fibercorellc.com/eco-bedding.cfm

Do any of you use this for birds or small animals? How does it absorb and is it really dust free?
Walk-in aviary with Waxbills (6 Cordon Bleu, 3 Orange Cheek, 3 Black-rumped, 1 Lavender, ), 1 European Goldfinch, 4 Gouldians, 2 Spice Finches, 6 Owl Finches, 4 Budgies and 2 male Button Quail.
I also have 2 parrotlets, 3 dogs, 1 snake and 3 freshwater fishtanks.

I prefer the compressed wood pellets. When they fly, light stuff like paper gets blown about the cage. Also it is the right size for breeding birds to take into the nest.

Thanks Gary!

I actually use the wood pellets too, but in the parrotlet cage. I would like something softer for the aviary because of the button quail.

Maybe I'll just get a couple of bags and try it out in a corner... I'm just so fed up with the kaytee Aspen shavings dust that I am in desperate search of a better solution.
