How many finches in Beccafigs cage?

Post by skythrutrees » Tue Feb 12, 2008 5:06 pm

Beccafig posted a pic of her cage, and I have the same one...her post with the pic is little below this post.

How many finches would be comfortable in it? I have 4 now, and 5 babies. Think 9 will be okay in it???

What species finch? I have that same cage, it is the one my 5 Gouldians are in. They have been a family for quite some time now, and they were very comfortable with that cage. Now I have four fledglings, with more on the way, so some will have to be moved. I will try to sell the babies, once they have colored up, so I will put them in one of my 30x18x36 cages.

If it is 9 Zebras, you may have some squabbling and feather plucking. If it is 9 Societies, they may be fine. It always depends not only on the species and the sex, but the individual personality, too. Some combos just don't work at all, while others defy all the rules.

I have the same cages here and the MAXIMUM I ever have in them is 6 gouldians at 1 time.

I have 4 zebras in my cage right now. Sorry I'm slow, been out of town a lot right now. :? I have some major issues with my little zebra turds right now and I thought a cage that big would be plenty for them.

Haha I know it won't hurt him, it will just get him the heck away from my other birds and keep me from going nuts. :)
