Ursula- how is this bedding going for you?

I just switched to it yesterday. The finches are using it along with Coconut fiber and Quiko nesting material to make their nests.

Yes, I know. Mine do too, especially the gouldians. And I don't want them to breed...

I really like it so far. It seems to absorb moisture well and dry again fast. And I like that it's very soft to walk on. (Good for the button quail and for my bare feet too. :-) ) When I did some cleaning the other day I just noticed that the scattered seeds and hulls seem to "disappear" somewhat under the bedding, so I will have to be more careful with turning it over and also cleaning better underneath. The aspen shavings were holding the stuff in more. But the main thing is I don't have so much dust anymore. That's wonderful! I think once it wears out a little and in areas where we step on it, there is still a little dust. After all it's paper. But nothing compared to the wood.

How is it for you so far? Do you like it?

I pay about $50 per 30 pound box locally. Since its so heavy the shipping costs are just too high, that's why I'm glad fibercore helpers me finding a store that orders it for me.

I got mine at the local Pet Supplies Plus for $14 for 4.5 lbs. Seems like each bag covers about 20 square feet. I layed mine on pretty thick though. I also don't think aspen shavings helped my allergies any as well. It definitely dries a lot quicker that the aspen shavings.
What store has the 30lb'ers?

If I call them they can find one here also? I bought some a while ago from Bird supply of NH. mine loved to pick through it, play with it and use it in cups and in nests.

It's Rucker Horse&Pet in Cumming, GA who are ordering that for me.

PM me if you want me to send you the direct contact for fibercore. I'm sure they can help you guys too to find a local store that can order the big boxes for you.

I go up to Cumming to do some work every once in a while so that may work out.
