I read somewhere that a lady had built a fountain in her basement for her finches - it could be an exciting idea and sooo pretty!DanteD716 wrote:New problem, what aboyt water???
Two gouldians, two gold breast waxbills, two societies, four zebras, two canaries, one hamster, one freshwater fish tank, one salt water fish tank.

Hmm. I was thinking a fountain, but that would be a pain to maintain. I was thinkimg more of like a tray on the floor.

Re: 12ft By 12ft Aviary
The craigslist ad was flagged, so not sure what kind of doves you are wanting. I would guess that most doves would be too large to be in the same aviary with finches. I used to have Zebras and Diamond Doves, but in separate cages. I fastened together two of the 30x18x36 cages for a 5' long flight, and put the Zebras and Diamond Doves together. The Zebras stayed on the opposite end from the doves, and when the doves flew to the same end as the Zebras, the Zebras immediately flew to the opposite end again. They acted like they were afraid of the doves. Even though Diamond Doves are the smallest dove, they were still lots bigger than the Zebras. I finally separated them again. In an aviary, I think the Diamond Doves would be OK--I love them and miss having them.

It always getsflagged, she always posts them, it's like spam. They were ringnecks of various colors, but I guess I will stick to diamonds

If it was me, I would get diamond doves..not the regular large size doves. To me thats way to big to house with finches. If you want doves, I would have them in seperate cages.

Booh, well that is no fun. But diamonds are pretty cool, I will get some of those!! I will research what type of nest they need, I want to have everything planned ahead of , the local petsmart sells diamonds for like 30 each and they come in pairs
