Perhaps I am just too fussy! But I want the best for my birdy babies! :D

Have you checked with your local feed stores? they might be able to order a smaller roll for you...that would save on shipping. You have quiet a few feed stores in your area.

I have checked out some of them. They all carry uncoated mesh... The green mesh I found on amazon has free shipping so I think I am going to go with that. Thank you so much for all your suggestions!
Oooh I so wish I could have this done NOW! I am so ezcited to get them in their new home! :D

I like the coated wire, the green should be nice, kind of natural.

I was kind of thinking that too, since I am doing natural wood!

hi
when i first started in the 70s i had a much smaller aviary and i used the plastic coated wire but i could only get green but it was ok for watching the birds through, but when i built my new one it was 19x9x6ft6 and i had to do the back and front and the roof which would have cost me a small fortune for that kind of wire so i just went for the galvanised wire i must admit the plastic coated looked better and it is more durable and just required a rub down occaisonally but it was beyond my means! i just thought i would show you this as i have just found it,it shows the front of my aviary and my westie eddie who we always called (the love sponge)keeping a close eye on my quail

hi cindy
my relaxing bench was opposite the aviary so i got a full view of all the goings on get a nice cold drink and sit at the table and watch eddie running up and down following the quail he couldnt get near them because i installed a kickboard that was as tall as the quail on the inside i think he thought they where toys.....i wish i had a £10 note for every hour i spent sat there!

Another couple of sources I have used in searching for this galvanized mesh material to be used outdoor space:

Mcmaster Carr - Industrial Supply Warehouse - online, great service and price is decent.

http://www.bwire.com/
Belleville Wire Cloth - Called, good service over the phone and very competitive pricing.

Some FYI's for yall out there.
