Cage Size Question

Post by SirPeepsALot » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:01 pm

The cage I currently have for my two zebra finches is W16"xD16"xH18". It has worked well for the two of them. I was at the pet story today, though, and noticed they had a couple of white zebra finches, and a couple of pied. I would like to get a white female and a pied male, but I can't really afford to get a bigger cage. Would the cage I currently have be big enough for four zebra finches?

I might be able to get my hands on a 16"x16"x22" cage for a cheap price and modify it so it fits together with the one I currently have.

I think the modified one would be better...if you can do it. Good luck!

Personally, the cage you have is a bit small for even one pair of Zebras, and I definitely wouldn't add any more birds to it. If your birds are a male/female pair, the hen needs more space for exercise. Otherwise, she could be at risk for eggbinding.
