New nesting idea?

Post by carlamay » Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:04 pm

When setting up the 2 new aviaries, we were looking at the easiest, most efficient way of mounting the various nests and decorating with artificial plants for both the beauty and the privacy within the cage. I had been to the Dollar Store and picked up some plastic coated wire drawer organizers...the nests fit in them perfectly with room to insert and surround them with foliage. I used small bits of floral wire or something similiar to attach the stems. Then there will be only one unit to remove when breeding is over and cleanup begins.

In Texas, we have a saying... if you want to find out the easiest way to get a job done, give it to a lazy man. He will ponder over it until he can get it over with little effort. This is one of those!

I insert another pic of aviary #1 as an example of the finished product with these nesting "pods".
Also there is a pic of the finished item and the components - I had found an old picnic napkin holder in blue and used it.

I like that! Helps hide the nest, giving privacy, yet easily removable. Your flight cage is looking good, too!
