A good thing

Post by PrettyBird » Tue Oct 30, 2012 5:59 pm

For a while now I have been using Zeolite in birds cages. I sprinkle it on the cage bottom (under the wire, on top of the newspaper)

Its great for absorbing spills, keeping odor down etc.

Since Ive been using it I have had no smell at all. Its a great all natural product.

Of course I get it for free because my dad has a Zeolite company ;)

I use the fine zeolite. Looks almost the same texture as sand.

Pardon my ignorance but what is this product :?:
Never heard if it , sounds great , some bird's are quite dirty when breeding and this would definitely help with hygeine/odour's .

Thanks :)
Zeolite is a mineral.

It can be used for many purposes, and come in many forms (as fine as sand, and as big as large rocks)

You can use it to purify water (can be used in fish tanks), condition soil in gardens for larger healthier plants, clean up spills (garage, household etc), to remove odor in pet cages, gym bags, home..pretty much anywhere you can think of. They have some cat litter products that are made purely of zeolite. Its also safe for animal consumption. Etc, etc.

When I had a fish tank, I used a zeolite rock my dad gave me in the tank, and it kept the water clear for alot longer than without (had goldfish)

I just thought I would share

Dee, if we were going to buy it what would we be looking for as far as a bag label?
I used the oil dri product before and loved it except for how big the pieces were. I would love to find another product similar. :)

Hm I dont remember off hand, I will email and find out.
I know theres bags he sells the size of cat litter bags.
I usually just need the size of a ziplock freezer bag, and it last me a long time!
Ive had this bag since the summer, and its not even half gone yet.

Would you be interested in a big bag, or something about this size?

Probably something from freezer bag size up to cat litter bag size. I definitely wouldn't need anything bigger than that.
