Hello there!
I am gonna build an aviary for my finches and have it
natural, plants here and there, tree branches and sand in the bottom..
But What do you think of having flowers in the aviaries?
Do the birds chew them and destroy them?
I was thinking of having Orchids and peace lillies. (are they poisonous?)
And I am also gonna have palms and ferns.

Elma this is a chart/site for safe and toxic plants : http://www.cockatielcottage.net/houseplants.html
With slkis the zebra have a habit of dethreading them and pulling stems of flowers off. One will get a flower off and it is like a prize...others follow the bird trying to take it, one male even put it under him and sat down like he was hiding it. Owls are a bit gentler on silks. They will try to nest in spots.

Re: Plants
Thank you Cindy.
I have seen this wesite before, but they dont say anything about
the flowers I want
I have seen my finches tear my silk plants apart.
Thats way I am worried about my life plants.
I have seen aviaries with life plants and they looked good.
Thats why I want to try it
The plants wont be in normal flowerpots, I am gonna make them
"bird/nest safe"

Orchards are probably safe, but the birds will quickly destroy the flowers. Bob
