Very cute! I like the plants you put in there. I bet they love having the sunshine come in through the window!

They love the sunshine and the fake plants. Its so entertaining to sit and watch them. They NEVER stop singing and flying around. I love having them in my family room.Toddmin wrote: Very cute! I like the plants you put in there. I bet they love having the sunshine come in through the window!

thank you! The seed guards definitely help, and are machine washable. I got them on amazon.com. They are Xl to fit the flight and come in different colors. They ship to your home really fast too.lyzzyjayne wrote: So Nice!!How do you like your seed guards?

Re: My Finch Set-Up
Nice set up for them! I envy you the window. I only have one window in my apartment where I could place the cage. It gets some mid-afternoon sun that I would like for them to have, but unfortunately, it's where the heat/ac blows, so they have to make do with full spectrum lamps. They can see out of it though, and I guess they do pay some attention because they all prefer perching in the end of the cage directly across from it.

Re: My Finch Set-Up
Thanks Guys

My guys love the windows. That's the one thing my house has plenty of...windows. I have bird feeders in my yard, so my finches have lots to see throughout the day. When the weather is warmer I will open the windows so they get the benefits of the natural sunlight. Right now the windows prevent that benefit, so they really should have artificial full spectrum lighting...but they don't...I need to invest in those lamps before this fall begins.Nice set up for them! I envy you the window

Re: My Finch Set-Up
The benefit they get from windows is still there, the visual light spectrum. Feeding hard boiled eggs will give them the needed Vitamin D3 to help absorb calcium that they are not getting from the light going through glass.Right now the windows prevent that benefit, so they really should have artificial full spectrum lighting...but they don't...I need to invest in those lamps before this fall begins.
