Thanks Nelissa. I also had to use green and galvanized wire in the past.. Which both are ugly IMO. I will be ordering online if the future!nelloyello11 wrote:Dante, when I was building my flight, I looked everywhere I could locally, even some independent garden stores. I could not find black coated wire anywhere locally. Home depot and lowe's here only sell galvanized and green, and the largest roll I found was 15'. It was definitely NOT economical for the amount I needed.PrettyBird wrote: Dante- when I built the wooden flight last year, I got the black wire mesh from Home Depot. Wasnt too expensive for the roll. I only needed one.
I ended up ordering online...

They changed these links.nelloyello11 wrote:Dante, I did a LOT of searching before I bought mine, and I came to the same conclusion. I ended up buying online. I found the black PVC coated mesh with 1/2" spacing, for what I considered a reasonable price, with reasonable shipping. The place I got it sells it in 24" and 36" widths, in 25' lengthsDanteD716 wrote: home depot has them but to me they seem too small for such a price...

It looks like they stopped carrying the plastic-coated hardware cloth, but they do still have galvanized.
If you go to
http://www.elawngarden.com and search for hardware cloth, you should get a bunch of results.
