Shelves over water dishes

That a great idea, unless you have Society's. Mine like to perch on the water dishes and their butt hangs on the inside area. They seem to have no concept they're pooping in the water dish. I also keep water bottles too, but they prefer the dishes, so I just have to change the water twice a day, in am and pm. That helps a lot, but is work. I may try the cover for my other finches, although, my owls are very clean with the water dishes, as are my Green singers. The Society's are the problem. LOL

I have societies too. They will continue to perch on the side of the water, no doubt, but if the cover is something they can also sit on, they will probably choose that sometimes instead of the water dish. It might help a little.
