Vinyl Coated Hardware Cloth
Does anybody know where I can buy a 36" x 50' roll of 1/2" black vinyl coated hardware cloth?
I've seen a few websites that sell the length I want, but it is either not vinyl coated, or it has a green vinyl coating on it. I have found the color and length I want at Academy Fence, but they are charing $36 on shipping. I'll purchase it there unless I can find it cheaper elsewhere.
Thanks!

They only had the green vinyl coated hardware cloth. They had black plastic hardware cloth, but it didn't have metal in it. I will be using the black plastic on another project, but I needed the black vinyl coated hardware cloth for this project. I ended up purchasing it online at Academy Fence.

Todd, some feed stores carry it. Also try http://clover.forest.net/kwcages/index.html they have all kinds of supplies for building cages.

Thanks cindy! I will check them out for future purchases! I think Academy Fencing's prices were better though.

We shopped around for a bit before building our aviary. It indoors in a separate bird room. We settled on the plastic mesh since owls and bourkes are housed in it. It worked out week. If we had built outside we would have chosen the vinyl coated or wire mesh.

Re: Vinyl Coated Hardware Cloth
I'm planning on building one in my daylight basement and will probably use the plastic mesh for that. However, the large double flight I am building for the main floor will be the vinyl coated mesh because I think it looks nicer. I am trying to make the flight as furniture-like in appearance as possible.

I cant wait to see pics of this project. Home décor is my "thing," so I know I will be green with envy
. If I wasn't such a menace with power tools (actually all tools), I would make one myself. My skills don't go any further than designing and of coarse supervising
. Good luck, Todd.
