Separated the Pluckees, not Plucker

Post by Acelin_Wolf » Sun Aug 18, 2013 10:02 pm

I moved my OCWBs cuz one of them got VERY plucked very quickly/abruptly. I think it's the lone spice finch that did it, but I did get a new society a few days ago. I haven't seen him act aggressive; he just sings. The spice finch I /have/ seen pluck a society though. I don't have room to move her unless I do some serious rearranging. Thoughts?

Good to have moved the OC's to get them out of harm's way, and let them recover.

Maybe just keep a very close eye on the others and see if the plucking continues. If so, then Spice has got to get put "in time out" to protect the others, since the Spice is the most likely culprit from what you say. If it then turns out it's not the Spice, then isolate one by one until you find the guilty party.

A Spice partner for a lone Spice, alone in its own cage, will probably work out fine. A Spice partner for a plucking Spice in a mixed cage may not make a difference.

Kay. I'll do that then. I'll see if she settles down and if she doesn't then I'll separate her and get her a spice friend. XD Thanks for the input!
