Does anyone have this cage?

Post by LadyGMom » Tue Feb 04, 2014 5:55 pm

I was looking for flight cages and I came across this particular cage and I like the fact that it has under the top a grate where you can put a light fixture. I like that it is all white too. How many Gouldian do you think I can put in it? I think it is a pretty nice looking cage and decent price with the 10% discount they offer. Does anyone have this particular cage and if so how do you like it? Avian Adventures Loro Flight Floor Bird Cage, http://www.hayneedle.com/product/loroflightcage1.cfm

The cage calculator says 2-3 birds.

If it's all gouldians I would think 4 would be fine.

Finches love lengthy cages. It's better for them than height. Most also want their own territory. In my opinion there are better options out there. I think one breeding pair per 18x30x18 stackable cage gives the birds room to fly are well as privacy. The other option for a colony of finches or resting pairs is a longer flight cage or connecting two together.

If you need something that takes up about the same floor space as the cage you are looking at, this one is 27x37. I have 6 Goldbreasts in one right now, and I have had more birds than that in it. It depends on whether you want to breed or not, they need more room when breeding, but if you just want a flight cage, I like this one:

This is not necessarily the best price for it, I just don't have time to shop around right now.
3 Purple Grenadiers, 1 Goldbreast + 1 cat.
