Can You Stack These?

I know lots of you guys have the same 30x18x18 Petco Flight Cages


So, here's the question: Can you safely stack these cages?

I'm paranoid that the top one is going to collapse down on the lower one. (The cage can't seem to support itself when you remove the tray; it sort of sags down which is what got me nervous in the first place. Hence the rather dumb question! LOL)

Does anyone have these stacked? Are they okay?

It would just be one on top of another, so we're not talking an enormous leaning tower-o-bird cages. Just hoping to free up some space while I'm re-doing the bird room.

They do just fine, in my experience. Though I like to use zip ties to reinforce the joints

I always use zip ties to reinforce the joints of these type of cages whether I am stacking the cages or not.

That's a good idea to do the zip ties.
I used to do that on my cages before I had a bird room, to cat-proof the cages.

I stack them, they do fine. I don't use zip ties, but I think I will do that too. They are kind of flimsy.

wilkifam -- Yeah, they aren't awful, but they're definitely not what I'd call robust.

Do yours sag when you remove the tray?
Mine dips down when I remove the tray for cleaning and I have to literally hold up the cage to get it to go back in.

I imagine you probably need to unstack to clean the tray, huh.

MiaCarter Mine also sag, and I just lift up a bit to get the tray back in. Its not a problem even on my cage that is 3rd from the bottom, so no worries

I take each cage and put on a small table in my bird room to clean, so they get unstacked when I clean them. They do tend to sag a bit.

I have a cage that I use as a hospital cage, that is constructed very similarly. I noticed how wobbly it was when I put it together, so I used zip ties at the connecting pieces. It made a big difference.

I have this cage. Like everyone said, you should use zip ties. It makes assembling it much easier and makes more sturdy. I'm happy with this cage. Good luck stacking them!!

I have mine stacked too. 3 rows of three. I don't worry about unstacking for cleaning and I've not had a problem. They do sag a bit when the trays are out I agree but so far it's been o.k..
