That's quite fascinating, that there is such a variety of different weather conditions.
In Canada, we have the far North, with very cold Winters, and short hot Summers. The West coast has fairly decent weather, but lots of rain (although not this year). The Rocky Mountains, get lots of snow, cold Winters, and warm to hot Summers. The foothills/prairies (where I am), we get cold Winters with snow, and hot Summers, and it's very dry all year around. We also get Chinook winds in the Winter, which can raise the temperatures amazingly fast. The prairies, get long very cold Winters, with varrying degrees of snow, and hot, mosquito infested Summers. As you work your way Eastward, into the Eastern Provinces, you get long Winters, with lots of snow and hot Summers, with lots of humidity. Going further East, you hit the Maritime Provinces, which have very snowy Winters and wet Summers, with very high humidity and cold winds off the Atlantic.
So that's pretty well it for Canada.
Here in Calgary, we have weather which can be very changeable very quickly. We have a saying here, that if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes, and it's very true. In the Winter, I've seen temperatures rise by 20 degrees or more in a few hours, when a Chinook blows in. This Summer, has been hot and very dry. Just a couple of days ago, we broke a record (from 1906) when the thermometer shot up to 34-35 degrees, and today, it's barely 10 degrees and pouring down rain.... So go figure, shrug......
