How do I house my birds?

For questions about finch enclosures (cages & aviaries).

Ok thank you. I was just wondering just in case I, for some reason, got a different species. I do love how my societies have big personalities. My female, who was my first bird which i bought by itself, actually got kind of bonded with me and let my handle and preen its tiny tiny pin feathers. I love societies. :D

Some people think that they need to add another species to their group of Societies, and end up chosing something that may or may not get along with their peaceful Socies.

My opinion is, if your Societies are happy, and you're happy with your Societies, why rock the boat?

That's a cute story, about giving your first little Socie girl little scratches when she was molting. I always think that those pinffeathers must itch like crazy when they poke through.

Societies, really are little sweethearts, and they come in so many pretty colour and combinations.

Good luck with getting a little friend for your boy.

Thank you once again. I might let the birds breed again later, far into the future, but can someone clarify if I can let them breed this year even though they've already have had 3 clutches?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my flock of societies. They are so busy and loving to each other. Although I am getting ready to separate the genders into two flight cages, their cages will remain right next to each other, as they adore chatting and singing to each other all day long.

They are the very delight of my home. I personally wouldnot put another species in with them and ruin the wonderful vibe they have.

Now by all means there are lots of people who house their societies with others and its great! I just kinda like my society flock all together.

I'd separate your genders if they have had 3 clutches already this year.

Although societies dont mind having lots of buddies around to chat and snuggle with, the health of your hens could be at risk.
