I hate to be a thrill-killer, but with all open squares on the bottom of the umbrella stand - isn't that going to be hard to clean?
The space looks really wonderful!

Yeah I was thinking of that...and like if anything got in under there..but I guess I'll figure out a way. Maybe I can cover it with something.

the umbrella stand is a great idea though...it's shaping up nicely. Maybe if you cover the wallpaper with a coat of a clear sealant (bird safe) that would allow you to wash it better and still keep the paper up?
