Congrats on the new flight!! Maybe if I buy my Hubby a bottle of Scotch (and make him drink it) he'll let me turn his office into a bird room. I'd have to move quickly though....the next day may not go over so well.
Too funny! But let me know if it works for you. I may have to try it out of my husband as well!!

NO EVIL NANCY   .......i cant help feeling partly responsible with my idea of building a bird house. hmmmmmm getting people to do what i want by making them drink........no no no no no [-X [-X i will not give in.
I would have conjured up the idea eventually..especially with the holidays coming up and my bird population taking off. Besides my Hubby is accustom to the abuse...been dealing with my shenanigans for 13-14 years now. Where do you think I learned these tactics from anyway. He's always pulling fast ones on me to get his way...time for the tables to turn.

Oh just little pranks like.....

He wanted to go see some movie a couple of years ago, I think it was "Inglorious Bastards" and I told him it wasn't playing at the theater near us b/c I didn't want to go...he bought it but then he got me when he googled it.

This may sound horrible but he did this to me for years...I kept wanting to go to this Mexican Restaurant and he told me it CLOSED DOWN. Come to find out a year later....it's still open and never closed.   He got me! I am soo gullible but he does that kind of thing all the time but I have finally caught on. He tried telling me that Pet Super Market closed at 6 pm the other week but (HAHAHAHA) I knew better. Pulled the wrong store on that joke - I know their operations hours by heart.

These little pranks are a daily occurrence under our roof. I have been trying to get him to hang this chandelier that I bought a couple weeks ago but he claims he needs some part he cannot locate. I think it BS too but I know nothing about hanging chandeliers/lights so I can't call him on it. I think he is just being lazy.

It's all in good fun....we put the "fun" in dysfunctional.

hahahah lol sounds like a lot of fun, my dad tries pulling the store is closed trick everyday but im always telling him i have the computer and can check. that keeps him honest, believe me he does not get away with much but he still pulls some on me, the chandelier trick could be true though because larger chandeliers need more support but my dad is always pulling tricks to get out of house work.....we also put the fun in dysfunctional.

Glad we aren't the only family that operates this way. I am getting a little leerie on the chandelier...we're going on two weeks...some part. :?

Hahah nooooo believe me, we are just as messed up lol. But it's been working for 17 years so far so I'd say it's a good system.

I still have to add some more mesh and make or buy some trays.
Do you like the barn doors?
If I need to clean, I use the lower door, and if I need to catch a bird, I use the top door!

I am only keep finches in this cage, the red heads and the lavenders and green singers! The canaries will stay in their breeding cages as they can be bossy and pick on the smaller birds.
Now I will have some cages for sale, as I wont need them.

That's exactly what I am doing with the cage set-up I am building!

Thank you!
Post some pics of yours please!

Should I stain the doors like the rest of the flight?
Or should I add some contrast?
I have some white and green craft paint!
Maybe go green?

yes it looks very nice, great job. i think you should stain the door the same color as the aviary so it blends in more seamlesly because if its a different color it will take away from the birds if you know what i mean.

I haven't actually done my doors yet, and it's taking way longer than I had hoped, but it is getting there!
