Re: My Avairy in progress
OH thank you so much Cindy for the advice. I will have to tell my husband and see what he thinks. Then well make a decision on weather space heater or heat lamp.

Re: My Avairy in progress
Great aviary. Question: What is on the bottom and how do you clean it? I could not see the bottom well. As far as heating, I bought a stand outdoor/indoor patio heater that keeps the room at 79-86 degrees, depending on the setting. I also use red heat lamps for night secured on top of the flights with clamps or tarp clips, all are attached to a surge protector. The only concern would be if you had a blackout and lost electricity, it could be a problem. A breeder here in Texas lost 300 finches this summer when the AC unit went out on a day the temp was 108! Always have a back up for emergencies or unforeseen problems. Otherwise, get ready to enjoy! I sit in my bird room and get lost there watching them. Have fun!

We use newspaper & hay for the bottom for cleaning. I got them a space heater and its working okay with no problems.finchmix22 wrote:Great aviary. Re: My Avairy in progress
That is one nice roomy aviary, Summer. It is so fun to watch how it is progressing. Your Hubby did a great job!
I am sure you will have so much fun watching your birdies in your new aviary that you may never want to come out of your basement again!
