Hi. Nice birds. I love the javas. That silver hen is spectacular! As you can tell we are all fans of more flight room for or birds. Nice collection though.

I think your birds are very pretty. What is the speckled bird with the red face?

I think you are doing a good job with what you have, but a bigger cage is something to really aspire to. Finches are different than many captive birds in that they need the horizontal fly space. Parrots and keets seem to work fine with a tall cage as they love to climb. But little finches need to spread their wings to be really happy. That is what I was taught and what I have found through my experience.

I understand that cages can really cost, but you can find some nice cages at bird shows and possibly on ebay. You can also buy secondhand cages very cheap. They just have to be really disinfected. Obviously very important. :)

Looks like you are doing great with your very pretty birds. But do give the cage some thought as your birds will really appreciate it. :) :) :)

Hi, neighbor (almost) I lived in Aveiro as a kid, I'm sure there are a lot of breeders in your area, try to have someone build one for you. I"d send you one if it didn't cost so much to ship.

Hi former neighbour! Well thank you so much, but I would love to meet more fellow finch fans in this country. Do you know someone who can build one here? I don't even know the costs if I could ask for something like that.

Sorry I don't know of anyone personally, have been gone to long from the home land. Just do a google search for finch breeders. I have seen breeders sites I just can't remember who they were.
