Shelley, my PhD is in Biology. I study flowering plant evolution (systematics) and biogeography.I would possibly be interested in one as well (not sure how expensive... but I am sure worth it).
What are you getting your PhD in? I just finished my masters and am thinking of going for the next degree.
It would depend what you want (and what starting materials I have available), but I could try to price something for you. Maybe this could be a test run in terms of shipping, and so I wouldn't charge as much for the design/labor portion. I think Greyhound may be a good option for shipping large items like this.
I inspired someone and that's so awesome! You should go for it! It's a lot of work, but it's fun. I happened to have a lot of cage pieces (mostly fronts with doors) at my disposal, but you should check out "Snappanel" fence sections in the garden department at Home Depot. This product seems like it may be a really great and inexpensive alternative to the hardware cloth that other people seem to use (they come in 21" x 36" 2-pack and 47" x 36" 4-pack for $11.97 and $39.97, respectively). I'm not sure what they are made from, but they seem like plastic-coated hardware cloth. I might have to use them when I run out of cage pieces...or I'm going to have to cut apart my set of 3 flight cages that I'm saving for hospital/quarantine (or obsessive finch expansion--haha).Hey Grant...I was laying down in my son's room last night and found myself turning his armoire into a flight cage (in my mind, of coarse).
