I bet if you volunteer to move your grand dads stuff, your dad will be more apt to say yes. I do that all the time with my hubby...works like a charm

Either way Dante, in the winter you may want to put some sort of substrate down to act as a barrier incase the cement is cold, chilly. You can try the bare floor then always switch to a substrate later on. We added the pine since the floor is wood covered in a thick sheeting of visqueen which is easily wiped down.

Thinking about it, I don't think I could actually do bare floor because I want quail

I'll try. Lol, I don't see the point of keeping all of it! But I think if I move all the outdoors stuff into the garage, and the boxes/misc stuff into the attic neatly I should be fine.
