Hi there,

I have three birds - one canary, one star finch, one Zebra finch. I clean them daily and let all of them out to fly several times per day. I use the top of an old cage to get them back in. I keep the cages on the same place so they know where it is.

I take my bottom grates out every week to clean. I spray them outside with a diluted mix of Simple Green and let it sit for several minutes before spraying it off. For the cages inside, I usually take a sponge and wipe the cages if needed. I don't usually use anything but water on the sponge, although I have used diluted simple green with that too. I wouldn't want to use bleach, even though I use it for my bathrooms, because the birds are much more sensitive to the fumes than we are.

Oh, I also have a net like Finnie mentioned. I got mine at a bird fair for a pretty good price. I can often catch them with my hands but sometimes it is easier to use the net.
