Thanks northernmist. :) Sadly, my male goldbreast died a a couple of months ago,
so now I have a society finch keeping Jane company. They are really an odd couple,
with the GB being only about 1/3rd the size of the Society. So cute to see them cuddle! :lol:

I think the bottom slidy thing if its slight open they can easily get out.
Keep in mind im only 11!

There is a door/flap that drops down in front of the tray. I leave it down & locked all the time, except when I open it to slide the tray out
When the tray is out the door (flap) drops down and locks closed so that they can't get out while I clean the tray.

Used this closing for many years and never had an escape. I think Sally also modified an HQ cage and removed the wire grate. She put a similar door on the bottom to close the gap when the tray is out. Works like a charm. :D
