PetSmart Aviary
Re: PetSmart Aviary
Sally you should ask them! I got mine for $500 from the guy I bought it from. Not sure how much he paid for it. It wouldn't be practical for smaller finches like strawberries, gold breasts, and the tinier birds. They'd pop right through the wiring... I may have to install some smaller wire to avoid the birds escaping, but otherwise its a beautiful aviary.

Update pics of the aviary, fully stocked with finches and decor.
The birdfeeders are held on to the glass via suction cups, and a small velcro circle on the bottom. The birds seem to love them, and waste quite a bit less food, rather than tossing through their feed dishes for the new seeds on the bottom.
The birds are LOVING the space. I can't believe how hyper they get having all that room to zoom around. Its very comical. They have a bath on the bottom, and once one starts splashing around, they all go crazy and all jump in and splash around. Very entertaining little birds.
The perches I've used are those reptile-branches you can buy from the pet store. They are made with non-toxic materials, they're washable, and bend-a-ble which I love. Also, they are a bit rough, and I think help with keeping some of the birds nails trimmed down (especially the mannikins and bengalese)
I use corncob bedding on the bottom (there is lino underneath it for easy cleaning) I take my mini shop vac, vaccum all the bedding out, steam clean & disinfect the floor, and put new stuff down. Works like a charm!
Enjoy the pictures everyone!

I just use black electrical zip strips (the mini ones) to attach them to the wire on either side of the aviary, and string them across. They also bend, so you can wrap/twist them around eachother.
