Hi Betty,

Yes basically it's a trellis panel that I've fixed to the front of the door,

The door was a 15 glass panel door and the glass in these doors are never particularly that strong unlike the double glazed window, I've got small grandchildren and young necie that visit regularly and it was a necessary measure to put something over the front of the birdroom door but also still allowed light through the door, did think of mesh but wouldn't of looked particularly great.

Knowing what little ones can be like at times didn't wanna find a bicycle handle through me door etc :-O.....lols

Thank you for comment :-BD

Stuart, above you mentioned 'continental ( Belgium style ) dumpy drinkers' ? Google couldn't figure it out. Always on the lookout for a more convenient system. Even when I'm happy with what I have.

Sally

Cheers Sally, thank you for comment,

I've been down to the builders merchants this morning and have got a delivery tomorrow morning with a load of concrete blocks, this I'll be using them for the pillars on me birdroom floor spaced out along the back wall of me room, there should be about 4 pillars in total and this will be the supports for the base of me indoor aviary as the base will be about 2.5 ft off of the floor,

I'll be positioning the pillars tomorrow morning and then at a later date I'll be boxing all 4 pillars with 3/4" ply board for neatness,

On top of the blocks I'll be fitting a full length kitchen work top and this will be the base of the avairy,

After I've done this it'll then be a case of building the avairy framework and doors etc when money allows :-BD

Done a bit more today, positioned the concrete block pillars which will then be boxed in with ply board, work top now fitted to the blocks, this will be the base of me full length indoor flight,

Some cages will also be built on both of the end walls after I've built the flight,

Now need to get some more work top to go in Front of the window for me food preparation area etc,

Hopefully I'll be getting all of the timber for the flight next week some time if all goes to plan :-BD

Just wondering what Euro society finches sell for in your area in USD?
Favorite hobby is continuing to improve on a landscaped, weather protected, 500 sq ft mixed aviary with 23 fascinating species. 30 years in the making; currently have
19 different Finch species, 2 types of Doves, plus 23 Button Quail and 30 pair of clear Red Factor Canaries.

Hi Paul,

Euro society finches ( Bengalese ) sell for around £20.00 per pair as an average price but can be as little as Say £7.00 per per.

If looking for high class champion birds I'd expect to pay upto around £50.00 per pair,

I'd personally be looking towards the higher end of the the market and definitely from private breeders if I'd want quality,

A little while ago I bought 2 different studs of society finches off of a couple of people who were packing up, these were all champion birds and got the lot for £20.00 per pair which was a result for me as the quality is second to none

I'm keeping these temporarily down the road at my freinds while I'm soughting me birdroom out, I won't obviously be keeping all of them, I'll sought through to the best birds once they've finished the moult and keep the best few pairs,
The rest I'll simply sell on :D
