I don't have them online yet....will try to make it a priority to day. I attached a picture of mine which is in a 6x6 walk in so...nice and big one:)
Thanks for the referral Judith:)))

And YES, it is suppose to be at the very top of the cage. The idea is birds act aggressively by attacking from an upper position. By placing it at the top of the cage, no one can get the upper hand so to speak. This way it is truly a place of rest, no one should be able to reach inside from above only the side:) Birds always attack from above or so I was told. It takes about 2 months for gouldians to assimilate to any changes and this is no exception, but just wait and they will use it!!!
It is good to see you here Terri :D

Haven't forgotten about you Judy...
The cost of wholesale .. $1.02 plus shipping to me, plus shipping to you probably would be as much as ordering from ABBA directly. They ship from New Jersey, much closer to you, therefore cheaper. Shipping from me to Canada is more expensive...Retail from them, if they don't have a distributor in your area is $1.62 plus shipping. (I believe that's what I recall them quoting) Be forewarned they charge an additional $5.00 for credit card use. But you can send a personal check at no extra charge. Glamourous gouldians may be cheaper also, no credit card charge anyways :D Let me know via PM if you want me to get some for you, I don't sell from the website or ususally mail products, just sell from my brick and mortar store but would be happy to do this for you. I will be placing an order this week. Either way

Candace,

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I'll order directly from Abba and save you the hassle. I requested a catalog. I'm not sure if I need anymore right now, as I have purchased 3 already from Terri. I may try to construct one myself... especially a larger one to accomodate the larger birds like the Splendids and the Bourkes. :-)

That's great you got a catalog, you will find many more things to order  I have been ordering from them for over 15 years and love the products. They carry so many European items (like cage fronts, cage banks, great canary nest, etc.) that nobody else imports. All the other sellers buy them from ABBA and then resale. So with you so close ordering direct with lower shipping probably will get you the best bargain too. Have fun shopping :D

I have these installed in the flight cages at the bird shop. It is an easy way to get a lot of perching space available though they get a bit costly. One point to note... make sure you place it forward a few inches because if you don't the finches will either mess up their tail feathers on the cage bars or not use the perches due to not enough tail feather room. You can see from the pictures how I have them spaced.

I bought a bunch of these stress perches from Abba as well and assembled them in long spans to reach from front to back of my flight up at the highest point. I discovered that you can slide a long wooden dowel in to use as the actual perch part rather than using the individual little plastic perches that come with the set (same diameter, obviously). I like the look better, feel like it is less "flimsy" and apt to break apart and collapse when fully "loaded" in the middle of the night causing some horrific night fright, and it made it easier for me to hang them in my flight cage (I have mini "sparrow" wire which is like micro chicken wire on my flight, which is great in that it virtually disappears so you have great viewing, but makes it a bit more challenging to attach things to).

My birds took a few days to get used to the "strange new thing," but now seem to love it and rapidly fill in the stalls at dusk when they go to roost. The lavendars seem to love playing "hide and seek" in them through the day. At dusk, the finches are fun to watch as they peek around and below the dividers to see who their next-door neighbor is for the evening. It really does provide privacy and probably makes a more cozy roosting spot for them as well. It seems to be used by the gouldians, cordon bleus, green singers, and the lavendars primarily, as far as I can tell. The societies and tiny waxbills (strawberries, orange breasted) still like to snuggle up together on communal perches). Cando is right about needing to remember to mount these perches to leave room for tails to poke out.

I too found that if you don't attach each unit to the top of the cage with the round clips they will sag/collaspe... but when secured with the top clips no problems. This also keeps the perches from popping out. Of course this works in cages with bars only as this is what they were designed for. In aviaries where there is no top support it is probably best to use strong wooden perches.
