Lets see, 15 gouldians (3 of my breeding pairs, and babies), 4 chestnut breasted mannikins, 2 stars, 2 RCCB's, 4 societies... so 27...

That is good number for the lovely aviary. Your birds are so lucky. Good job.

CandoAviary haha you don't know the half of it!!! I think it took me 3 days to get the silly thing to fit together, (with no instructions or picture either!) as well as some help from my brother to hold pieces in place to fit just right... I couldn't tell you how many times I had to take a piece off, just to fit another on, and then to find out that I missed putting a piece in somewhere else! (not to mention a few nicks in my hardwood floor!  ) But, its all worth it in the end. The birds are happy, and I am happy, and that makes for a really happy household!

I have tried to put things together without instructuions... that's why I had to laugh. Sometimes it is just plain persistance that gets it done  I know you birds are super happy!

You got a great deal, setup looks fantastic, and I admit, I am jealous. The best thing about this, is that it is an indoor aviary that complements your surroundings well. Not sure if anyone here can top that aviary. =D>

That turned out just fabulous, Brady! What a nice way to relax, lying on the couch watching your birds.

waxbill lover wrote: Hey all,

So I have a chance to buy one of the huge front glass aviaries that PetSmart used to have in the center of their stores. (with the little room inside, where they had access to all the little critters) Its a half octogon shape, with the door in the back. It has the recessed lighting inside, and plenty of room for the birds to roam around, plus it has an easy to clean lino floor in it. Its probably 8 feet tall, 7 feet wide, and 5 feet deep. The person who has it is asking $500 for it. What do you all think, good deal? I think it sounds pretty darn snazzy for that price. Only kicker is, it has to be taken apart to transport it, and then re-assemle it when it gets to my house... with no instructions.. It would look AWESOME in my bird room, and also would cut down on the mess the birds make...

I wish I had a picture of it, but if you've ever been to petsmart, I think you'll all know the big aviary I'm talking about.

Thoughts?
I say go for it!.
I had to take mine apart and put it back together in my house also.
I had the same guy who took it apart ,put it back together. So he knew how it went.So see if you can do that. I hired an old friend from a Bar I use to go to :D
I have a Pair of Canaries.I also have an Aviary(video) with a bunch of finches in it.
