That looks great, Cindy. I see what you mean about dropping the cage down to the shelf. I looked at my HQ double wides, and they cannot be dropped. The way they are built, the legs are incorporated into the panels, and there is not a separate stand.

I have one of the cages you have....I divided that in half to create an upstairs and down stair cages. I like the double wide idea best!!!!

Yeah, this cage that I am building, I used to have it divided with an upstairs and a downstairs. But I found that when the finches couldn't fly up to the upper half, they flew out the door whenever I opened it. So I had to rig up a cloth cover to clip to the front of the cage every time I needed to do the food in there. And then reach my arm through the side of the cloth, hopefully not leaving any gaps. It was very tedious. I had budgies in the top half then, and they were very polite and never tried to fly out! :wink:
