I love it....
Here is a pic of mine, for some reason I can't get that great of one
I used Hilary's idea and put plastic sheeting in the back and sides for poop flying. That works really well. I bought the two full spectrum lighting fixtures from WalMart that everyone was talking about, and I have them all almost completely converted to a pellet diet. (Some are kinda stubborn)
Here are some of the finches in the flight

Looks great, Emily! Question - you seem to have done something different with the plastic slide-out trays than the standard - do you have your trays just resting on the place where the slide-out grate would go, and you aren't using the grate at all? Also looks like you are using some bedding of some kind down there? Fill me in on what you have done there - I'm always looking for ideas to make cage-cleaning easier! (I figure, if it's nice and easy, I'm more likely to do it often and not let the poop pile up too high, as I've been known to do!)

I just put the grate below the tray and I use corn cob bedding at the bottom for them. That way I can't wait about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks before having to clean the big cage. I hate scrubing the grate so I don't use it in any of my cages. It is a softer landing than the grate using the bedding. But I also have plastic on the back, sides, and bottom front. The front can come off and on when I clean. That way not to much of the bedding is thrown out.

I'm in love with these cages! I saw them first on birdandcage.com, and didn't realize they were the ones so many of you have!
I would really love the double cage, but we just don't have the room in our small house. Once I get my bird(s), they'll go straight into a 30x18x18. If I can convince the hubby (and save up enough), I'd like to spring for the single....but it's really not that much more room (other than vertically), so I don't know. Do everybody's birds tend to utilize all the space in the bottom of the cages, or do they all just hang out at the top?

I have the 30lx18dx36t cage, and they do utilize the bottom, but I think only because that is where the food is. They tend to perch on the higher perches, and fly down to eat.

Hey, I think I have this same flight cage. I wanted to swap the position of the grate and plastic trays so the trays would be on top and not have to scrape those grates, but when I did it there was a huge gap between the bottom edge of the cage and the top rim of the tray. Also when the grate is in the bottom position, it seems a little unstable like it could fall out, but guess I could secure it with some plastic-coated wire. How did you overcome the gap problem?

I'm at work, but i just saw that my cage was delivered at home. Too bad I have to go to school after this...it will be hours until I can set it up (that is unless my hubby was feeling proactive and already did it!!!)
So exciting!
I'm also interested in how you set it up w/o the grate.

I put the grate under the trays so that they stay there. There wasn't a huge gap and I've only had one escaper... The rest don't really think about it. Mine is in a seperate room and I keep the doors shut, so if they do escape, I can usually find them when I get home. They are usually sitting on top of the flight cage trying to get back in.
If you do it right though, there shouldn't be much of a gap.
Here is a closeup picture of how it'll work

Steve, thanks for the info on introducing pellets. I didn't think of two feeding dishes, duh

and was mixing the two. Problem is, I couldn't tell if they were sampling the pellets or just tossing it. I'll try again.
I like your new digs. Can I ask where you got it?

Steve, ignore my question about where you got the new digs. I just found your link...a little distracted this morning.
