bdotan01 It was more expensive than others, but they are the best quality wise. It was $1430 delivered.

It is really well built and will last forever. It is from Classic Aviaries, the original builders here in Australia.

Thanks everyone. It has been a long ride but we finally got there. At the moment they are hanging back in the corner, once they settle and come out I will get you guys some more pics. :D

I have the best time sitting out there watching them, I start with my coffee and then find myself still out there late afternoon, nothing is getting done but I am having a great time. =D>

This is me: "Ohhh look the cordon just took a piece of straw to the nest !!!" lol I watch and get excited about every move they make =D>

I have never found anything so relaxing as watching the finches, it nearly puts me to sleep !! I love it =D>

Thanks chirpy

Did you get an aviary too? or a bigger cage?

I still admire your strength on getting no more birds....I have bought all of my "got to have" birds now so I can just sit back and watch all the colours I love.

Although - there is a pair of Pied sea-green parrot finches I am thinking about, $180 a pair !!! OH GOSH I AM HOPELESS I AM TELLIN YA. =)) =))

Mands OH I WISH. we are moving to an apartment next month... an aviary? thats a dream with in a dream! LOL
maybe a possible bird room when we buy our own house.. I WISH.

If I could have it my own way.. I would have more birds on top of birds... but right now the 5 is good... tho.. obviously i want more HAHAAH!!! I told myself no more pets until I am a working mom! that's my next goal - to find a job so I can keep my hobbies of having pets :)

I go away for ten days wednesday so i am scared that my hub will tell me theya ll died :( I wil have to make a HOW TO CARE finch for DUMMIES plastered all over the house lol

chirpy I am really lucky, my hubby loves the birds. He sits out with me and to be honest he has paid for more of them than I have, he has really good taste I am glad to say, so together we have a nice collection.

He said to me yesterday while we were sitting and watching "I really love these finches" It was very touching from a big bad biker LOL. He also finds it relaxing, he is always tinkering around doing something for them. He has about 24 Zebras in an aviary that he just loves, and he has learnt a great deal about caring for them. I can't tell you how much I have learnt from this forum, it has been great and made some nice friends as well.

We have other animals as well, 3 dogs that are our shadows as we could never trust anyone with them for us to go away, plus I think our dogs would fret really badly if we left them.

On my car, my personalised number plate is CRITRZ as I have always loved animals so much, my graphic design business is called "Critterz" as well.

Maybe one day your hubby will soften up and let you expand your love of your finches. =D>
