hi all
my aviary was built because i had a new birdroom and a storage shed and i left the gap in between the two so i could make a purpose built avairy which turned out to be 15ft wide by 6ft 6ins high and 8ft back to front as i said i built it from scratch with an indoor space for the winter and a solid door to get into the aviary from the outside with a wire door to get into the aviary so i would not lose any birds here is a link to a few of my photos

this is the first picture i took when i started the aviary i am afaid the rest are not in chronological order

hi gunnar
it was a fantastic feeling when i had finally finished my aviary....i love my birds and its great to watch them close up when they are in the cages inside the bird room but when they finally get to fly free its a fantastic feeling to know that you are giving them as much space as you can to fly free...just remember dont put to many branches in and none to close together and you will get the full benefit of watching them fly across from one side to the other plus it builds thier muscles up

as soon as my aviary is finished Crystal I will take some pics of it for you.
at present it is still under construction.
when finished it will be 24' long x 12' deep x 7' high, it will be made in two section with the first being 6' x 12' x 7' this area will be used for breeding cages and storage, the remainder of the aviary is going to be open flight.
it is being made using 25mm (1") square tube welded together.
the end walls are enclosed and the roof is 75% covered. am using 10mm square mesh on the rest. once the work is complete it will be planted out, with native shrubs and small trees plus grasses.
should be done in about a month, looking forward to sharing pics with everyone

Although I have already posted it elsewhere, I figured I might as well post it here as well (probably the more appropriate location).

Finally finished my indoor aviary, which all together everything was still cheaper than buying a decent flight cage.

Size: 7' wide, 14 foot long, 7' high. (bird area) there is also a full length 3 foot wide hallway along the long side, behind the first door.
built into back half of second bedroom.

Here's a link to some pictures:

I have a giant flight/aviary.... it isn't as big as some of your guy's, but it is 6 feet wide, about 5 feet high, and about 3 feet deep... so it's a pretty decent size flight cage. Anyway... I wanted to share a few pictures of some of the inhabitants.

YOU CAN CLICK ON THE PICTURES TO MAKE THEM BIGGER :D
