Hi Chase, Looks like you were quite heavily into breeding. For your new set up will you go the cage-breeding route again or would you have walk-in aviaries?
I keep debating with myself if I should turn my cage-breeding birdroom into several walk-in aviaries.

Nevermind - I think I got my answer - you're going to do both!

hahha yes both...
my goal is to cage breed everything... as i am a stickler for BANDING....
but some just prefer the space...
walk in flights are mainly for my larger softbills
and then for holding and conditioning young and breeder finch....
yes i was huge into breeding (contrary to somes belief) but lost power to the birdroom durring one of the hottest days of the summer... and when i got back to them about 80% of my birds had perished
this is why i am having to build back up... and doing things differently...

That was quite the set up.
And my hubby whines about cages all of the place

Of course I still don't have that bird room, so they sort of kind of are

That has always been a big fear of mine. I have a 20 X 10 building and have an air condition unit that cooled it in the summer but last summer I built a large welded wire and screened frame so I could open the building up. I also have a 3' side door the same way. With fans pulling and pushing air through the building it keeps it cool enough and I don't have to worry that the building would get deadly hot after a black out.

Didn't mean to get so carried away here...I have this passion for building for my birds

Was planning some more outdoor aviaries for this summer but just might get distracted with the bird barn
Chase, I love the quality you put into your building... that is great to have that ability to stick build exactly how you want. I am sure you will build your flock up again..... I like the idea of the exhaust fan in the ceiling on a timer. I have a fan in a storage shed that is activated by a certain temperature to come on and vent air. I had never thought about incorporating that into a bird building.... I will though

I learn so much from other's buildings and bird rooms, keep the pictures and details coming

It's great when you have bird friends to swap bloodlines with. Feathered friends are the best

I am sure you will get built back up... the main thing is how much we enjoy them in the process.
I will be following your building from here on out
