Hi,
How often (in the real world) is it recommended to change the paper on the floor of the cages, I have 1 pair of Gouldians per 24" cage, I normally vacuum the bottom of each cage once weekly, as I have now put them all down for breeding I would like advise on the above,
Ray

When your birds start laying...forget it and leave them in peace....especially gouldians. If you want to be houseproud then don't take breeding too seriously.

I agree, while breeding use your time for observing, record keeping ,learnig, and note taking instead of cleaning. You can give the cage a good cleaning once the clutch has fledged

I clean my cages approx 1x a week, but depending on the birds I can push it out to 2 weeks. Some of my gouldians poop more than others.

I clean the bottom trays once a week, unless of course I notice that a pair has started showing interest in the nest. Then all bets are off, and I let them have their cage to themselves in peace.
