Kamikaze Gouldians

I've had three new pairs of gouldians in a cage in the house for a few weeks.
I decided today to release them into the big outside flight. There was the usual panic as they adjusted to their new surroundings. But one pair decided to belt round at high speed, hitting the wire time and again.God knows how they didn't break their necks...both finished up on the floor exhausted.
I made a decision to re-cage them so brought them back indoors. They settled immediately, now on their own with the others having been removed.
The male went into display mode and the hen bowed down deeply head shaking in response...one of the most intense displays I've ever seen.
So I fitted a nestbox to the cage and they both dived in to inspect it within minutes...betcha life I get eggs in a week...They prefer cage living!!..that's fine with me. :D

Congrat on your new goulds.... even though one pair may be a bit mad... fitting
Sounds like you will have eggs in no time. Are these of the normal mutation?

I guess all that space was just too much for them....
I have had a few birds do that when I introduced them to my aviary. They usually settled down after a few minutes, but I sure held my breath for a while....

They know what they want! It's interesting the females do the headshaking too, I didn't know that. (Waiting a while to breed my 2 pairs).
